                        Japanese Crafts
Kunai

  • A kunai is a Japanese basic tool which in the hands of a martial arts expert, can be used as a multi-functional weapon.
  • The kunai is an average of 40cm long.
  • The kunai was used as a multi purpose garden tool.
  • It is larger and heavier than a shuriken.
  • It can be used for hand to hand combat unlike the shuriken
  • There are several varieties of kunai
  • A kunai can also be used for climbing
  • The kunai is often found in manga(comics), anime(cartoons) or video games
On the top right is a video I found on you tube on how to make a paper kunai
Real Kunai

Shuriken

  • A shuriken is a traditional Japanese concealed weapon that was used for throwing and sometimes stabbing or slashing
  • Shurikenjutsu is the art of wielding a shuriken
  • Today most shurikens are made of stainless steel and sold in Europe and North America or online
  • They are illegal to carry or possess in some countries

Real Shuriken

Challenge no.AC2

Below is the murals the mural team worked on every Sunday for two terms.
Our mural is the 4th one from the left. I worked with Dylan and Robert. We were the only boys in the mural team.
We had a lot of fun mixing colours, learning about countries in South-East Asia.
I will always have fond memories of painting this marvelous mural, especially when I walk past the school!
